She was born March 19th, 1934 in Montgomery County, TN. Maye grew up and graduated high school in Montgomery County, TN. At the age of 21 she met Bernard “Bernie” DuBois on Sunday May 29th, 1955. Madly in love, they married 2 days later on Tuesday, May 31st, and spent a joyous 39 years together until Bernie passed away Feb 23rd 1995. After marrying a soldier her life became a great adventure filled with travel and journeys to all corners of the world. One of her fondest memories included spending 1 year in Okinawa Japan.

After Bernie’s retirement from the United States Army, they built a home and settled down in Cottage Grove, MN. While living in Cottage Grove, Maye volunteered as a Cub Scout Den mother, as well as doing further volunteer work at St. Rita’s Catholic Church.
