  • I had the awesome pleasure of getting to meet Bernice through my daughter-in-law Lurleen Kennedy-Sobolik. Whenever I was at a family event, Bernice would always seek me out, make me feel so welcomed. Our paths even crossed years ago, both of us getting our physicals at Mayo, she saw my husband sitting waiting for me, and recognized him….WOW….how amazing, even out of the elements she remembered us. She was always a bubble of sunshine, I always looked forward to seeing Bernice when we were with the Kennedy clan. God’s Blessings to her family, you are in our thoughts and prayers. Sincere sympathy, Jim and Sharon Sobolik

  • KINDNESS EVERYDAY AND SUGAR COOKIES .
When I think of Bernice, I can’t help but think of what a fabulous cook she was and how jealous I was of her famous raised Sugar Cookies.
The word “kindness” is very overused these days but she was seriously one of THE kindest people you could ever meet. She was not a jealous person but a giving person, not a “taker” but a “giver” and was very gracious to me and my family. She was also my daughter’s god-mother and never forget her-EVER. Mark and Bernice are “good folk” and I’m so happy they had each other for so many years. I don’t know Megan real well but Katie (my daughter) sings her praises and says she is exactly like Bernice! Of course she is!!!! I’m so sorry she was sick and I know she is in heaven right now. She will be missed by everyone. I am blessed to have known her…. One of THE best human beings created from God!

  • What beautiful skin and gorgeous smile! I knew Bernice at AgriBank, where I also worked. She was a gem! It saddens me to know that bright light has been snuffed out. So young! My thoughts and prayers are with Mark and her family. May God hold you all in the palm of His hand through this time of suffering loss. May memories of her keep her alive in your hearts forever.

  • I got to know Bernice as a parent in my kindergarten classroom. She was so kind and such a delightful person. I appreciated how much she worked with me as a parent and volunteer in my classroom. Always so thoughtful! I ran into her a year or two ago at a craft fair and she was so excited about the new grandchild! And I got to see Megan as a beautiful young lady. Much love and sympathy to her family.

  • I grew up in River Falls, my maiden name was Brady. I remember spending time at the farm when I was young. I always enjoyed spending time with Bernice. Milking time was fun for me cause we didn’t have cows. She was a great person. I will keep you all in my prayers.

  • Bernice was exceptional. From the time she was my classmate in grade school, through her adult years. She excelled at her studies, piano playing, sewing, baking, being a friend, her business career, gardening, being a wife and mother, a homemaker, and perhaps her greatest joy – being a grandmother. Bernice loved the life she and Mark had created for themselves. There is a brighter star in the sky tonight.
