Beth Carolyn Johnson-Amacker, age 93, of River Falls, WI passed away February 11, 2020 at Kinnic Health & Rehab in River Falls after a brief stay following some recent health complications.
Beth was born in River Falls on March 23, 1926 to Fred and Edith (Murray) Goldenstedt. She had one brother, Robert. They lived for a short time in rural Roberts before moving to River Falls where she attended school, graduating in 1944. Beth went to Cosmetology School after graduating and practiced in River Falls all her life, except for 2 years in Bay City, WI.
Beth married Norbert Johnson on December 7, 1946 in River Falls. They were blessed with 5 children. After Norbert’s passing in 1997, she married Roger Amacker in 2003.
She was a lifelong member of the First Congregational Church in River Falls. She was also a member of the Loyal Order Chapter of Eastern Star, where she held many positions of the chapter. With so many years doing hair and attending church, Beth had many friends and relatives always around her. She loved sewing, playing cards, traveling and being around her family and friends.
Beth is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Edith; husbands, Norbert “Hummer” and Roger; brother, Robert Goldenstedt; son, Allen Johnson and his wife Mary.
Beth is survived by her children, Larry Johnson of Watertown, SD, Carol Merriman of Hudson, WI, Pam (Jim) Cernohous of River Falls, WI, Rollie (Deb) Johnson of Clayton, WI; grandchildren, Craig (Linda), Mark, Troy, Katrina, Matt (Tara), Mandy (Janet), Andy (Coty), Steve (Marissa), Polly (Matt), Ben (Ashley), Laura (Sam); 23 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
Funeral services for Beth will be 12:00 pm (noon) Friday, February 14, 2020 at the First Congregational Church, 110 North 3rd Street, River Falls with a visitation starting at 10:00 am until the start of the service. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, River Falls, WI.
