Carol Ann Krech, age 85 of Prescott WI, died on Saturday evening, September 19, 2020. Carol was born January 17, 1935 in River Falls WI to parents Louis and Anna (Hrdina) Johnson. Carol attended school in River Falls, and graduated from River Falls High School. On August 27, 1955, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Krech. Their union in marriage was blessed with five children, two generations of grandchildren, and over 65 years of love and devotion to each other.

Many will remember Carol from the years she spent waitressing at favorite local establishments, such as The Steamboat Inn, The Stardust, and The Mississippi Belle. Around home, Carol enjoyed gardening, walking, bike riding, reading, and cross-stitching. Traveling brought Carol great joy, especially up north to Webster WI and to warmer destinations, like South Padre Island. Carol was an excellent cook! Her children recall fondly the good things that came from her kitchen, all of them made with love. Carol was a devout Catholic who instilled in her children the importance of church and faith. She only seemed to miss a Sunday Mass, on the occasions she had attended a Saturday evening Mass. Carol will be missed dearly by her loving family, and good friends.

Carol is survived by her husband of 65 years, Kenny Krech; her children, Debby (Palmer) Hanson, Dan (Mary) Krech, Dale (Brenda) Krech, DeeDee (Jim) Baker, and Doug (Denise Heschke) Krech; grandchildren, Annie, Amy, Andrew, Kim, Kari, Kallie, Chris, Ellie, Jake, Phil, Patrick, and Brady; twenty-one great-grandchildren; as well as many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Eugene (Verna Mae) Johnson.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, a private family Mass will be held at the St. Joseph Catholic Parish in Prescott, with Rev. Fr. George Szews officiating. Private burial will take place at the parish cemetery. Carol’s grandsons will serve as her casketbearers. Memorials honoring Carol may be directed to the discretion of her family. Condolences may be sent to The Family of Carol Krech, c/o O’Connell-Benedict Funeral Home, 1339 Orrin Road, Prescott WI 54021.
