James Patrick “Jamie” Rohl, age 46 of Prescott, WI, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer. Jamie was born December 16, 1973 in Red Wing, MN to Jay and Geri Rohl. Jamie grew up on a family farm outside of Prescott, WI, and graduated with the Class of 1992 from Prescott High School in the top 10 of his class. Jamie went on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, attending UW-River Falls and the University of Minnesota. Jamie married his high school sweetheart Jennifer “Jenna” Stanke on June 28, 1997.

Jamie had an exceptional career with Boston Scientific and loved his work and the people he was able to meet through his work. Jamie loved to travel with his family and explore new places. Jamie was an avid Packers fan, and enjoyed four-wheeling, snowmobiling, boating on his pontoon, and skiing with his family at Afton Alps. Jamie was the life of the party, and always made sure family gatherings were full of fun and excitement.

Jamie is preceded in death by grandparents Frank and Evelyn Huppert, and Ed and Mabel Rohl.

Jamie is survived by his loving wife, Jenna; children, Frank, Chloe, Ella, and Leo. Jamie is also survived by his parents, Jay and Geri Rohl; siblings, Joe (Steph), Jennifer, David, and Michelle (Muamer) Rohl-Heganovic. • It probably wasn’t more than a half an hour after meeting Jamie that I knew he was one of a kind; a singularly exceptional person and engineer. He saw things differently. He was brilliant, persuasive, kind, funny, curious, focused, amiable, open. He raised everyone’s game which, knowingly or not, implored us all to come play along with him. I got the feeling from him work was play, serious play, but still play.

I don’t think it would take the fingers of my hands to count the number of hours I spent working with Jamie yet I am truly saddened by the thought that I won’t get the chance to work with him and learn from him again. For those with whom he had spent a life time, I can only imagine your sense of loss.

I take to heart the memory of his mischievous, wry smile and generous, curious spirit. I offer to family and friends my deepest condolences and pledge to strive to be the kind of person you all and Jamie would call friend. Peace.

  • Rohl family-

I’m sorry for your loss. Jamie was a special person and will certainly be missed by many. It’s hard to quantify the countless professional accomplishments and contributions Jamie made to the advancement of science in the medical community, however I can say he was one of the brightest and most innovative engineers I have had the pleasure of working with. I’m lucky to have know such a genuine person and may he Rest In Peace.

  • We are so sorry to hear about Jamie and are thinking about you all with a sad and heavy heart. Our love and prayers to you all. Ed & Amy

  • We are so sorry for your loss. As his teacher almost 30 years ago, I thoroughly enjoyed having Jamie in the classroom. He was always razor sharp in class and was a tremendous thinker, a truly exceptional student. Over time he was always quick to say hello to me, followed many times by sly comment with his classic wry smile. He was a true gentlemen. I am better for knowing him. Our thoughts are with the Rohl family. All the best Ken, Julie, and Jeff Ryan.

  • Jenna so sorry for your loss. May God bless you and your family at this difficult time. If you ever need someone to talk to please do not hesitate to call. Sending prayers and hugs.
