Lois E. Andrews, age 84 of Maiden Rock WI, died on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at her residence, surrounded by the love of family. Lois was born on December 7, 1935 in Plum City WI to parents Vernon and Mathilda (Kaempf) Holt. Lois attended school in Maiden Rock. On May 23, 1953 at the Methodist Church in Maiden Rock, she was united in marriage to Elwood D. Andrews. Their union in marriage was blessed with four children, and over 52 years of love and devotion before Elwood’s passing on November 25, 2005.

Lois worked numerous jobs in and around Red Wing, and very much enjoyed her time at the St. James Hotel, working and helping prepare meals in the kitchen. Her heart was at home, where she loved to bake and care for her family. Lois also loved gardening, picking strawberries, canning vegetables, and making homemade sauerkraut. She cared for many of her grandchildren, and they fondly remember the stacks of pancakes she made with love. Lois could sew anything, and she sewed the love of God into her family and others through teaching them her favorite songs and Bible stories. Lois lived a life of faith and had love in her heart for God. She was a member for over ten years of the C3 Crossroads Church and active in Yesterday’s Youth, and was a long-time member of the Bible Center Church where she was active in Vacation Bible School. Lois will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her children, Twylah (Jerry) Eggenberger, Vernon (Patti Jo) Andrews, Bruce (Kimberley) Andrews, and Doyle Andrews; grandchildren, April (Jamie) Gransee, Roy (Kim) Raethke, Robbie (Phaedra) Raethke, Jeremy (Emily) Andrews, Eric (Jen) Andrews, Ben Andrews, Jerod (Jen) Andrews, Tad (Heather) Eggenberger, Bryoni (Corey) Eggenberger, Jeremy Eggenberger, Duffa Gill, Jared (Victoria) Gill, Miranda (John) Schrack, and Balinda (Rob) Villanueva; and numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Marshall (Sherry) Holt; sister, Dorothy Alkire; sister-in-law, Flora Holt; and brothers-in-law, Jim Hanson, and Ray Mogus; as well as many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Elwood Andrews; her parents, Vernon and Mathilda Holt; and siblings, Clyde, Norman, Inez, Edith, Doris, and Eldon.

Services honoring the life of Lois Andrews will be held on Friday, June 26th at the C3 Crossroads Church, W7562 US Highway 10 in Ellsworth WI. Visitation will begin at 10:00am, with Funeral Service at 12:00 noon. Pastors Matt and Angel Anderson will officiate. Burial will follow at the Maiden Rock Cemetery, with April Gransee, Roy Raethke, Robbie Raethke, Jeremy Andrews, Eric Andrews, Ben Andrews, and Jerod Andrews serving as her casketbearers.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the discretion of the family. Services have been entrusted to the O’Connell-Benedict Family Funeral Home of Ellsworth WI. 715-273-4421

Lois's Tribute Wall

Tributes (8):

Please note: if you just submitted a tribute, it is pending approval.
  • I worked with Lois at Pro-Act in the sewing department. After we left there became good friends. I will miss her but know someday we will see each other again.

  • Goodbye Aunt Lois. So many memories from my youth with you and Uncle Fritz and my cousins. I worked hard bringing in hay and I had so much fun shooting pigeons and hunting raccoons. You were always so nice and caring. In the last few years it was always a joy to see you at the family reunions and other functions. I know you are with our loving Lord now! Always in my thoughts, Georgie.

  • Sorry to hear about Lois. Lots of good memories of her while she worked at the St James Hotel. Always a smile and a kind word. We feel blessed to have known her. Rest In Peace Lois.

  • We will truly miss this loving woman of God. We had many wonderful visits and grew from her knowledge of the word.💕
