Printer Version

Lorraine Anna Minder, age 95 and one day short of 96, died January 1, 2021 at the Ellsworth Care Center. Lorraine was born on January 2, 1925 in River Falls; the daughter of Adolph and Mina (Belling) Kohl. She was raised in River Falls where she attended school. On March 30, 1946, she was united in marriage to Wayne Minder. This union would be blessed with four children; Kenneth ‘Butch’, Karen, David, and Glen. Although she was a devoted mom and homemaker, she and Wayne worked at the restaurant in Beldenville when the kids were small for a handful of years.

She enjoyed her time sewing, knitting, and crocheting. If you were lucky enough, you got one of her hats or mittens! She also enjoyed being tested by a good crossword puzzle and had a hard time walking away from her jigsaw puzzles. Moreover, she was a devout Minnesota Twins fan and liked to catch them on the radio.

Lorraine will be fondly remembered by her children Karen (Jerry) Greely of Shell Lake, WI, David Minder of Ellsworth, Glen (Barb) Minder of Wyoming, MN; daughter-in-heart Joyce Minder Engnes; thirteen grandchildren; many great and great great grandchildren; as well as her brother Dean Kohl. Lorraine is preceded in death by her husband Wayne; son Kenneth ‘Butch’; granddaughter, Kristen Minder, and Great granddaughter Jayda Minder; three brothers Bud, Buster, Jerry; and sisters Marcella and Betty.

A Celebration of Life is being planned and will be forth coming this spring in style! She will be laid to rest with her husband in the Beldenville Cemetery. Funeral services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Benedict Family Funeral Home of Ellsworth. Memorials in Lorraine’s memory maybe directed to the funeral home at 130 No. Grant St., Ellsworth, WI. 54011.
