Marian Lucille Campbell, age 96 of Maiden Rock, died on February 27, 2020 at Kinnic Health and Rehab in River Falls. Marian was born to parents Arthur and Ruby (Welt) Fjerstad on April 7, 1923 on the family farm near Hager City WI. Like so many of her generation, Marian attended country school. On April 25, 1943, she would be united in marriage to John A. Campbell Jr. Their union in marriage would be blessed with three children, Gery, Dean Sr., and Sheila.

Marian was a homemaker who also worked for others as a seamstress, and even doing hair for some. Marian especially enjoyed fishing, sharing jokes and telling good stories. Marian loved to cook and bake. Known for her amazing chicken dumpling soup, she proudly earned the nickname “Grandma Campbell Soup”. She will be missed by family and friends alike.

Marian is survived by her sons, Gery (Joanne) Campbell of Hudson, and Dean Sr. (Jean) Campbell of River Falls; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Bernadine Frazier; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; her daughter, Sheila (Rolland) Fox; great-grandchild, Donovan; and siblings, Ester, Rochelle, Evelyn, and Arnold “Jiggs”.

Memorial Services honoring the life of Marian Campbell will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, March 19th at the O’Connell-Benedict Family Funeral Home, 130 N. Grant Street in Ellsworth, WI, with Pastor David Gerdes officiating. • My mother Rhoda Lubich was the lucky one at the Kinnic Home to have shared a room with Marion for many months before she passed away in Novembr 2015. Marion was so kind and loving and never complained about Mom’s evenings of confusion when she tried repeatedly to call all of her children. I marveled at the intelegence of these two ladies as I read them many crossword puzzles, and they both chimmed in with the answers even though they weren’t even looking at the puzzle. Mom’s eye sight was very impared, but it was clear they both had done lots of crossword puzzles over the years. I will miss Marion and the occasional visit I had with her since mom’s death. She was a very special lady. I am so sorry I won’t be able to attend her funeral. I will never forget how good she was for our mother.
