In Memory of Steven Raechke

Steven Howard Raechke, age 72 of Ellsworth, WI, passed away April 5, 2020 at his home. Steven was born October 23, 1947 to Ralph and Shirley (Parmeter) Raechke. He attended Ellsworth Schools. Steven proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserves. Following his service time, Steven worked for the Pierce County Highway Department, and was a school bus driver for 18 years, which he loved. Steven also worked as an over the road truck driver for 30 years, until experiencing health issues, which stopped his driver career. Steven also worked in the maintenance department at the Red Wing Walmart. 

On June 22, 2013, Steven was united in marriage to Jo Ann Larsen. Steven brought to their marriage, his children, Darren, Ken and Kelly. Jo brought her children, Tonya, Christopher, Shanna, Dawn and Jacob. Steven enjoyed his time with Jo and their blended family at the Whitetail Ridge Campground in Sarona, WI. He loved fishing, horseback riding, 4-wheeling, grilling and smoking meats. He also delighted in entertaining others by his story telling.

Steven will remain in the hearts of his loving wife, Jo; his children, Darren (Traci) Raechke, Ken Raechke; step children, Tonya (Bruce) Pukal, Christopher (Cristanna) Hayden, Shanna (Eric) Welle, Dawn Schladweiler Hayden, and Jacob Watson; 23 beloved grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; and his sister, Diane Harden. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kelly Hudson; infant granddaughter; and his parents. 

Because of the coronavirus pandemic, a celebration of Steven’s life will take place at a later date.
