Wanda Marie Meacham, age 94, of Colfax, WI, formerly of Ellsworth, WI, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2020 at the Ridge Crest Manor at the Colfax Health and Rehab Center. Wanda was born May 28, 1925 in El Paso Township to Elmer and Lillian (Menke) Osterland. She attended Ellsworth High School. Wanda was united in marriage on July 17, 1941 to Bernard John Meacham. Their marriage was blessed with four children and seventy-five years of love and devotion. Wanda graciously provided for her family as a homemaker, as well as assisted her husband as a bookkeeper in their construction business.

Wanda was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She had a sweet and strong will, and a carefree and vivacious personality. Wanda loved adventure, and delighted in traveling, riding motorcycle, and flying with her pilot husband. Taking great excitement in big adventures, she even went skydiving on her 80th Birthday! Wanda enjoyed collecting many things such as Barbies, wedding dolls, spoons, thimbles, jewelry and antiques. She spent many hours crocheting beautiful doilies, quilts and tablecloths, and tending to her many gardens whenever she had the chance. Wanda loved having her family together, delighted in maintaining a well- kept home, and providing delicious home cooked meals for her children and grandchildren.

Wanda will remain in the hearts of her daughters, Dianne Bennett of Colfax and LoAnna Halverson of Woodville; 9 grandchildren: Ryan, Troy, Tricia, Angie, Sherri, Michelle, Shannon, Carmen, and Nancy; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Sharon Meacham; as well as many nieces and nephews. • Wanda was so good to Rick and I when we lived in Wisconsin. I remember a time she and Bernard flew to Kansas in his plane, using water towers for land marks. And they made it safely. They were fine people.

  • I remember Wanda(and her smile)and Bernard living down the road from where I grew up on Piety Street. One time Bernard had to land one of his planes down at the end of Piety Street, somewhere near Crownhart’s place. Wanda met him down there to help get it back home. Wonderful memories of neighbors on Piety Street.

  • I am so sorry to know that this world has lost such a lovely lady. When we visited in Ellsworth, she made me feel so welcome in her beautiful home. I have many good memories of Aunt Wanda and Uncle Bone. They will both be missed dearly. My condolences to the entire family.
